Background and History

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories meets today’s diagnostic challenges and is prepared for the future. Our expansive test menu and our ability to keep abreast of the very latest technological advances in laboratory medicine satisfy the ever-growing clinical needs of both patients and physicians.

CompuNet Clinical Laboratories, LLC was formed on January 1, 1986 under a joint venture between International Clinical Laboratories (ICL), Fidelity Prescriptions and Complete Home Care, Inc., and Valley Pathologists, Inc. ICL was later acquired by SmithKline Beecham Clinical Laboratories (SBCL) in 1988. SBCL was subsequently acquired by Quest Diagnostics in 1999. MVH Enterprises, formerly Fidelity Prescriptions and Complete Home Care, Inc., is a for-profit subsidiary of MedAmerica Health System Corporation (the parent company of Miami Valley Hospital). Valley Pathologists, Inc. is a pathology group practice providing medical directorship to both CompuNet and Miami Valley Hospital.

CompuNet’s mission is “To improve the health of our community through excellence in medical laboratory services.”

From its inception, CompuNet has developed a solid reputation among healthcare professionals for high quality and extensive clinical testing services. CompuNet continuously enhances its test menu and is able to perform 98% of tests locally at our laboratory on Sandridge Drive.

Facilities
CompuNet’s facilities include laboratories in Dayton, Ohio, facilities within Miami Valley Hospital (Dayton), and two satellite locations in Troy, Ohio and Middletown, Ohio. Patients and physicians have access to an extensive patient service network, which serves a 15 county area. CompuNet’s customers include hospitals, individual physicians group practices, clinics, and industry and insurance organizations.

About our Quest Diagnostics Partnership
CompuNet is a locally managed laboratory with a national partner. Through our affiliation with Quest Diagnostics, the nation’s leading national laboratory. CompuNet is able to offer a deep pool of resources while maintaining the individuality and control of a local laboratory.

Quest offers CompuNet access to the world-renowned Nichols Institute. The Nichols Institute is an unrivaled leader in esoteric testing, pioneering over 120 new specialized assays in the last two years alone. With bi-coastal, full-service facilities in San Juan Capistrano, California and Chantilly, Virginia, Nichols provides CompuNet with access to a large body of diagnostic and technical knowledge.
